David Jane – “The boss”
I love cars, I have always loved cars…
I believe this has been passed down from my father as he was always taking me to the track and he LOVED all things automotive! My first memories of falling in love with motorsports was when he took me to the races. We went to watch the F1 and World Rally Championships here in Barcelona and I was transfixed, I don’t think I remember a time after that when we didn’t go.
My father was a very clever man, he was always building things, and I was always interested in what he was doing and I would try and create things too. I was always trying to invent or improve household objects and mobile devices. Such as changing the gear ratio on the lawn mower to make it faster!
I think I always destined to be an engineer…
When I went to university I studied Industrial Engineering followed by MSC Motorsport Engineering & Racing Engine Design. I was fortunate to be awarded the Fernando Alonso Scholarship which gave me a chance to pursue my love of racing in the form of a Masters at Oxford Brookes University, England. This allowed me to work in Formula 3 for 3 seasons.
After this, I worked in France as the Senior Designer and Chief Formula Premium Race Engineer for Beta Epsilon. I had the privilege to design a Formula 4 car, a range of touring cars for Infinity, as well as developing lots of our own prototypes for different markets.
It was a hard decision to leave my motorsport role as an engineer but I knew it was the right time. I was the right age, full of passion & motivation and I felt ready to take that leap in creating not only Supercar Tours but experiences customers will remember forever.
